3. Kirk Cousins

One of the free agent options for the Bucs could be current Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins. Depending on how the rest of this season goes for the Vikings, things could get real interesting when it comes to the future of the quarterback position.

For almost six years now, Cousins has been the best quarterback this franchise has seen in quite some time. He's thrown for 4,000 yards in his sleep, it seems. It's an automatic. He would be a good fit in a vertical scheme, especially if the Bucs can bring back Mike Evans. Giving Cousins a similar pairing that he's been used to in Minnesota could bring familiarity.

Right now, he's got Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. He previously had Jefferson and Adam Thielen. Evans and Chris Godwin are similar players with different strengths and give Cousins two high-profile targets within this offense.

Both Cousins and Mayfield have big arms and can play the vertical game. Cousins would certainly be far more expensive, but his experience and consistency is something the Bucs should value more than what Mayfield brings.

Verdict: Cousins
