4. John Wolford, QB

The quarterback competition is surely between Mayfield and Trask, but veteran John Wolford has quietly had a great camp. Most of the fans' eyes have been on the top two passers, as not many pay attention to a third string quarterback.

However, Wolford has made some plays as of late and is making a case for the Bucs to keep three quarterbacks.

Remember, with the league's new rule, teams can carry a third quarterback on game day without that player counting toward the 53. In that case, the Bucs could keep Wolford on the roster while trying to sneak someone else they like onto the practice squad, in hopes to call them up regularly on game days throughout the regular season.

Going back to the competition once more, it wouldn't be too far fetched for the Bucs to keep three, because Mayfield has definitely had his share of woes in camp, including continuing balls being batted down at the line of scrimmage. If Wolford keeps up the solid play, he may force some hands into giving him some action down the line.
