Tampa Bay Buccaneers inactives list for Week 1 game against Commanders

Tampa Bay Buccaneers football, but not everyone is going to be healthy as the season starts.

Injuries have already hit the Bucs hard in the lead-up to Week 1, with four offensive players already on IR. Silas Dzansi and Sua Opeta were both subtracted from the offensive line equation with season-ending injuries, with running back Chase Edmonds joining them not long after. Rakim Jarrett is on the IR designated for return, but he also won't be starting the season healthy, and the injury bug has now turned its attention to the defensive side of the ball.

Logan Hall was ruled out on Friday afternoon, and at the time, he was the only Buccaneers player listed on the injury report. That changed when Calijah Kancey was listed as a late addition to the injury report, with 'questionable' being his official designation.

Buccaneers losing Calijah Kancey is a massive blow to the defensive line

It's pretty hard to overstate just how big of a loss not having Kancey is going to be for the Buccaneers up front. The defensive line was already thin without Logan Hall but losing pass rush off the edge puts even more pressure on Vita Vea and Greg Gaines to try and hold things down.

Not having Kancey means that it could be a big Joe Tryon-Shoyinka game. He's in a make-or-break season with the Bucs and has a chance to step up right away and make an impact. He won't help much in stopping the run, but he can at least keep an eye on Jayden Daniels and could help out if Austin Ekeler tries anything tricky.
