7-round Buccaneers mock draft after first wave of free agency
By Josh Hill
Round 3, Pick 92: Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, C/Georgia
After addressing defense with the first two picks, the Bucs can go on a nice little mid-round run of offensive linemen to help rebuild things upfront.
Baker Mayfield is back on a $100 million deal, which means protecting him will be paramount. The last two seasons have been a bit rough for the Bucs line, with injuries and poor play holding things back. It seems like a transitional period for the offensive line, as Ryan Jensen has retired, Cody Mauch is still developing, and Tristan Wirfs is the only sure thing.
Tampa Bay needs to rebuild the interior offensive line, and that starts with finding a long-term replacement for Jensen. Sederick Van Pran-Granger could be exactly that, coming from a National Championship-winning offense and anchoring a line that did magical things just a few years ago.
He's a physical, high-IQ center who could unlock a whole new level to his game with Wirfs mentoring his development. He also grades out highly as a run blocker, which will be more key with whoever the Bucs end up with at guard but can't be overlooked here given how badly Tampa Bay needs to get the run game going next season.
