The day has finally come, as the NFL will release its full schedule for the 2024 season at 8 p.m. ET. This will mark the reveal of every single facet of the schedule that hasn't already been released. In the days leading up to today, there has been a lot already revealed, such as some notable marquee matchups and dates.
For starters, the Kansas City Chiefs are playing in the annual kickoff game (reserved for the Super Bowl champion) and will host the Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of last season's AFC Championship game. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles will "host" the Green Bay Packers in the first Friday game in September since 1970, which is also the first regular season game to be played in Brazil.
That said, fans will finally get to see the Buccaneers' 2024 schedule, which projects to be full of exciting storylines and matchups. Ahead of the reveal tonight, here's everything we already know about Tampa Bay's opponents, schedule, and more.
Buccaneers opponents for 2024 season
Home | Road |
---|---|
Falcons | Falcons |
Panthers | Panthers |
Saints | Saints |
49ers | Cowboys |
Broncos | Chargers |
Commanders | Chiefs |
Eagles | Giants |
Raiders | Lions |
Ravens |
In early February, all 32 teams' opponents were revealed, in addition to their home and away matchups. With an opponent win percentage of .478, the sixth-worst in the NFL, Tampa Bay's schedule is loaded with several opponents who struggled last year. That said, the Buccaneers will play six games against teams that earned a spot in the 2023 postseason field: Baltimore, Philadelphia, and San Francisco at home; Dallas, Detroit, and Kansas City on the road.
As always, the Buccaneers will play the Falcons, Saints, and Panthers twice a year, with one game at home and on the road. At Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay is set to face Baltimore, Denver, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, San Fransisco, and Washington. On the road, Tampa Bay will visit Dallas, Detroit, Kansas City, Los Angeles, and New York (Giants).
This season, all teams in the NFC South will play the NFC East and AFC West divisions, with two games at home and two on the road per division. Outside of that, the Buccaneers will play the Ravens and the 49ers on the road and the Lions at home as their three other opponents, with the likelihood of one or more of those games being primetime.
Unlike last season, the Buccaneers will play nine games at home in 2024 since it is the NFC's turn to host all of the "17th games" that were added to the schedule in 2021. Each year, that game is an interconference matchup for every team with the two conferences alternating from year to year as the home teams.
