The Tampa Bay Buccaneers saw their offensive coordinator, Dave Canales, get snatched up this past week by a division rival.
The Carolina Panthers named Canales their next head coach after Canales helped Baker Mayfield to a career year, en route to a postseason berth and even a playoff victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
With the Panthers, Canales' main focus is going to be on second-year quarterback Bryce Young and how to take his game to the next level.
Many times, new head coaches will bring along some familiar faces with them to their next destination. In this instance, whom could Canales bring over to Carolina? There are four Bucs free agents that might make sense for this Panthers team.
1. Aaron Stinnie, G
First up is veteran guard Aaron Stinnie, who played the majority of the season as the Bucs' starting left guard. Stinnie is an experienced guard who is approaching age 30 and might be best served in a backup role going forward. But, knowing Canales' offense could be valuable in helping the rest of the offensive line room learn and succeed within it.
Stinnie allowd 29 pressures and two sacks last season on 442 pass blocking snaps. He wasn't horrible, by any means. But, the Bucs could have afforded having an upgrade there as well. Again, as a depth addition to the offensive line room in Carolina, Stinnie would be a relatively inexpensive signing and valuable as a reserve or spot starter.
