Predicting NFC South quarterback performances in Week 2
By Ryan Heckman
Desmond Ridder, Falcons
The Falcons look like they are going to be very similar to last year, where the offense is based upon one thing and one thing only: the run game. Atlanta is going to try and punch you in the mouth each week with their tandem in the back field. Second-year pro Tyler Allgeier proved he was not to be a forgotten man in Week 1, as he led the team in rushing with 75 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.
But, Bijan Robinson will likely see his role increase as the season goes on, and he'll be used in both the ground and passing game. Robinson is as good a running back prospect we've seen in several years, and he's going to be featured heavily.
As for Ridder going up against the Packers defense in Week 2, it should be more of the same. Green Bay's pass defense was great last year, ending in the top 10. As for their run defense, it was bottom 10, which is great news for the Falcons.
Prediction for Ridder: 14-for-19 passing, 154 yards and one touchdown
