The Bucs' wide receiver position is coming into focus much more now as the preseason rolls on. After the injury to veteran Russell Gage, it opened up another opportunity for someone to take over a spot on the 53-man roster. For right now, it appears as though undrafted rookie Rakim Jarrett could wind up taking that final spot.

Jarrett flashed in the team's second preseason game, which is exactly what he needed to do at that moment in time. With the position getting competitive and having sat out the first preseason game, Jarrett was in a "back against the wall" type of position, and he came through with three receptions for 84 yards.

Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are the sure fire starters, with Gage's spot being open for the taking now. It'll probably be taken by Deven Thompkins, David Moore or rookie Trey Palmer. My money is on Palmer, who has had a very strong camp and has looked great during preseason action.

If Jarrett takes the final spot on the roster, being the sixth receiver kept, that leaves no room for a few guys, and that group includes Kade Warner, the son of Kurt. It was a nice story to see Warner get into camp and onto a roster for the preseason, but Warner's time is about to be cut short.
