Robert Hainsey, C

Nobody is every exactly sure how draft boards will fall and what general managers will think, but it feels like a safe bet to assume the Buccaneers will be using at least a few of its Top 100 picks on offensive line help.

Specifically, Jackson Powers-Johnson has been linked to the Bucs and is a perfect fit for assisting in rebuilding the line. He’s a top prospect at his position and has all the tools to be someone who can effectively replace what Tampa Bay lost in Ryan Jensen.

Hainsey tried to fill that role last year and couldn’t, and now he might be about to watch his replacement get drafted this weekend. There’s no question that Powers-Johnson would be an instant upgrade, which begs the question of how Hainsey fits into things moving forward.

It’s unlikely that he’d outright lose a roster spot, but the arrival of any center or offensive guard pushes him to the bubble.

Logan Hall, DE

If you held up a the futures of Logan Hall and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka next to one another, it’d take some serious squinting to determine which was which. Like JTS, this draft class could bring in not only some serious competition for Hall but his potential replacement.

Hall got the backing of Todd Bowles late last offseason and it seemed like he put in some work to try and take the next step. He didn’t do that, playing too inconsistently to be someone the Bucs can rely on heavily in a rotation and could easily get bumped by a rookie taken on the first or second day of the draft.

The potential good news for Hall is that the arrival of rookie defensive tackles doesn’t mean he’s going to lose his job this summer. Bowles loves depth in the trenches which means Hall would still have a place on the roster, but his role would be in danger of getting significantly reduced unless he shows something in camp that suggests he has started to turn things around.
