Football is officially back, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting into the swing of training camp. After an eventful offseason that saw the Bucs retain some of their best players, now is where the real work begins.

Every year, fans get to watch the Bucs as they endure the grueling summer practices, but many of the players make the most of the time on the field by simply having fun. These guys do get to play football for a living, after all.

One of the more entertaining players to watch, whether it be on game day or in practices, is defensive tackle Vita Vea. For six years now, the big man and big personality has been a key cog in the middle of that Bucs defensive line.

And, now that he's entering Year 7 and kicking off training camp, it doesn't look like the personality is going anywhere, anytime soon. While some folks enjoy the occasional shotgun beer, Vea put his own version on display mid-practice.

Watch Vita Vea shotgun a Gatorade and go on to quote an Adam Sandler classic

Vea was seen asking someone for a key in order to shotgun a can of Gatorade, which by the way, still exist?!

Indeed, canned Gatorade does still exist.

After slamming the drink, Vea proceeded to quote one of the funnier sports comedies of all-time in The Waterboy. It was the perfect display of comic relief from the former Pro Bowler.

Vea enters his second year of a four-year contract he signed with the Bucs, and is coming off his best season since that Pro Bowl campaign in 2021. Last year, he stepped up his run defense in a big way, helping Tampa Bay to become the fifth-best run defense in all of football, as they allowed just 95.3 yards per game on the ground.

Minor injuries have kept Vea from having a complete season over the last two years, though, as he missed two games in 2023 and three in 2022. Hopefully, training camp sees the big man stay healthy, strong and prepared for another excellent season in Tampa, this year.

Keep the Gatorade flowing.
