Brace yourself, Buccaneers football is back!
It's been a long summer, but everything Jason Licht and company have been putting on the board all offseason will begin to help the team move toward a Super Bowl on Sunday. The road is long, and it won't be easy, but the Bucs have a much better chance to contend for a title than they're getting credit.
Go figure, right?
Tampa Bay spent most of its offseason allocating funds to bring back key players from last year. Antoine Winfield Jr., Baker Mayfield, and Mike Evans were re-signed, and the Bucs got ahead of paying Tristan Wirfs and handed him the richest contract for an offensive lineman in NFL history.
Even old friends are back, as Jordan Whitehead signed after two years with the Jets, and Lavonte David signed up for another tour of duty as well.
Liam Coen is the new offensive coordinator, taking over for Dave Calanes, and the stage is set for the Bucs to build on the surprise success they had last season. That all starts on Sunday with the season opener and home opener against the Washington Commanders.
How to watch Buccaneers vs Commanders on TV
Most of the country will be seeing the Cowboys-Browns game, which is going to be the debut of Tom Brady in the NFL on FOX booth. Meanwhile, Bucs fans will get Kevin Kugler and Daryl Johnston on the call with only a fraction of fans being able to watch the game.
Their loss.
Local fans will be able to tune into FOX 13 to catch the game, but anyone outside of the immediate Tampa viewing area should double-check which channel Fox is in their cable package.
How to stream Buccaneers vs Commanders without cable
What happens if you don't have cable? Don't sweat it too much, the game should be easy to catch on streaming services -- depending on where you're located.
FOX Sports Go will be an option for anyone in the area, but you'll have to be logged into your cable provider to get access. Fubo is also an option, but it requires a subscription to their service, which is the same deal for Hulu Live and other cable-adjacent options.
The real catch is that fans need to be local in order for those options to work. Anyone outside of the Tampa area will have to rely on NFL Sunday Ticket in order to catch the game.
Buccaneers vs. Commanders game details:

One thing to keep an eye on is the potential for storms to roll through in the afternoon. Rain has been hammering Florida over the last few days, specifically in Tampa, and that's expected to continue this weekend. It could make for a sloppier game than usual, since things are always a little wonky in the first week to begin with.
