Rueben Bain Jr. has become a national darling after being drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The football world has fallen in love with his demeanor he put on display after being drafted and making his way to the stage.

Retired offensive tackle Taylor Lewan, a three-time Pro Bowler during his NFL career, is thrilled he won’t be facing off against Bain and the Buccaneers.

Rueben Bain made Taylor Lewan happy to be retired

Lewan, speaking on his Bussin’ With The Boys Podcast, spoke about Bain’s intimidating walk to the draft stage after finally being drafted to the Bucs at No. 15 overall.

"He is going to f*** some human beings up this year. I have never been so happy to be out of the NFL my entire life than watching this guy enter the league. Praise God. Praise Jesus I’m not in the league right now,” said Lewan.

It's hard to remember the the last time a Buccaneers pass rusher evoked so much fear from an offensive lineman. Of course, Bain hasn’t played a down yet, but he undeniably made an impression on the league upon being drafted.

His no-nonsense, all-business demeanor is already commanding respect in league circles, even from retired Pro Bowlers like Lewan.

Hopefully, it translates onto the field. The Buccaneers havent had a player reach double-digit sacks since Shaq Barrett did it in 2021. They’re desperate for Rueben Bain to change their fortunes on defense, and based on his first impression, it sure feels like he can be the guy.
