After falling 28-23 to the New England Patriots, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have to face off against another incredibly difficult AFC East opponent with even more valid Super Bowl ambitions than themselves, as the Bucs will battle the Buffalo Bills in Week 11.
Baker Mayfield couldn't quite pass the MVP test last weekend against rising candidate Drake Maye and his Patriots, as the Bucs have been suffering badly on the injury front. Mayfield is without his two best wide receivers, key offensive linemen, and starting running back Bucky Irving, and many of those same key pieces will be out on Sunday against the Bills.
But Baker does his finest work when he's doubted and when his back is against the wall, and after a fiery verbal response to the critics after a mediocre display in which he was outdueled by Maye and outsmarted by a great Pats defense under Mike Vrabel, Mayfield has the chance to mount an even more fiery response on the field this Sunday.
What channel is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game on today? (November 16th)
Once again, former Tamp Bay Buccaneers superstar quarterback Tom Brady isn't going to be on the call for a massive Sunday tilt between the Bucs and an elite AFC East team, and while this isn't as big of a snub as Brady not calling the Bucs vs. Patriots, it still stings.
Of course, Brady is the "A" commentator over on the FOX side of things, and the Bucs vs. Bills will be on CBS with Brady otherwise preoccupied calling the NFC North rivalry matchup between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings - a much worse quarterback battle than Allen vs. Mayfield.
Meanwhile, CBS's "A" commentator Tony Romo, who knows a thing or two about top quarterbacking himself, will be calling the AFC West battle between Patrick Mahomes's Kansas City Chiefs and Bo Nix's Denver Broncos later in the afternoon. But, well, we all know the Bills vs. Bucs is the bigger game, and it's kind of a shame that it wasn't in contention for Monday Night Football over what will surely be a borefest between the craptastic Las Vegas Raiders and the almost as bad Dallas Cowboys.
