The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be celebrating the franchise's 50th anniversary this season, and the team will truly be doing it in style.
According to SportsLogo's Adam Lind, the Bucs are set to reveal new road throwbacks on July 15th. We still don't know precisely what they'll look like, but this move was "leaked" a few months back, which at least gave us a good idea of what to expect.
Keep in mind that this is an additional throwback uniform that the team is wearing. The Bucs have already announced that the orange creamsicle jerseys are coming back for a Week 15 game against the Falcons, which means we will see two games this year where the team is wearing throwbacks.
It's the 50th season, so it's a perfect time to turn back the clock and double dip. The question we still have is when the white uniforms will be worn?
When will the Buccaneers wear their white throwback uniforms in 2025?
When Tampa Bay announced its theme games, which is how we found out about the Thursday Night return of the creamsicles, two dates were left blank -- games against the Eagles and Bills.
It would be an absolute dream to have the Bucs wear their throwbacks against the Eagles in their Kelly Greens, but teams typically don't wear their old uniforms on the road. There's a third game in the mix that could stealthily be the one where the vintage white jersey comes out, and that's right out of the gate in Week 1.
The Bucs are aptly billing the theme of the first game as the '50th Season', and it wouldn't be shocking to see them don the white uniforms then. Two years ago the Bucs opened the season in Minnesota where the Vikings wore their vintage uniforms in Week 1, so there's also precedent to suggest this could be the game.
We won't know for sure until the uniforms are officially revealed, but at the very least it seems we know when that will be, and we can all financially plan accordingly.
