As Week 8 arrives, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers find themselves staring into the deep void of the abyss. After losing both Chris Godwin and Mike Evans on Monday night, the Bucs face a stretch of games against the Falcons, Chiefs, and 49ers that will have them without their best offensive weapons.

It's grim, but not fatal.

Tampa Bay is up against it, but this upcoming slate was always going to tell us something about the team. It just turns out that the lesson we'll learn is completely different than we initially thought. The stakes remain the same heading into Sunday, as the Bucs have a chance to outright claim first place in the NFC South, but now doing so will be even more impressive than it would have already been.

Who are the announcers for Buccaneers vs. Falcons today?

Adam Amin and Greg Olsen will be back in the booth to call this Sunday's game for the Buccaneers. They were on the job last time Tampa Bay had an early window FOX game back in Week 6 up in New Orleans.

That game followed the Thursday Night Football loss to the Falcons, and the duo are back calling the Bucs game after yet another primetime loss for Tampa Bay. Similarly, it's another divisional game the comes following a primetome loss, so there's some potentially heavy magic involved if you're into that sort of thing.

Referees for Buccaneers vs. Falcons

Head Referee (Crew Chief)

For the 12th time in his career, Shawn Hochuli will be on the field officiating a game involving the Buccaneers. It's good news for Tampa Bay, as the Bucs are 8-3 in games with Hochuli part of the referee crew.

The bad news is that officiating has been atrocious this year. Buccaneers fans are no strangers to this, as the missed facemask call on Bucky Irving in the first game against the Falcons was something that ended up impacting the final score. Already this week we've had a controversial missed call, with another facemask going unpenalized and potentially costing a team a win.

Hopefully we don't run into anything like that on Sunday.

Full Officiating Crew

Here's the rest of Shawn Hochuli's crew that will be on the field with him in Week 8:

  • Umpire: Terry Killens
  • Down Judge: Patrick Holt
  • Line Judge: Jim Quirk
  • Field Judge: Jason Ledet
  • Back Judge: Jimmy Russell

Buccaneers vs. Falcons TV channel and start time

It's not a FOX doubleheader this week, which means there will only be one game on that channel locally. However, CBS had two games scheduled so folks in the Tampa area will be treated to Bengals-Eagles in the early window while Bears-Commanders will be the late game with Jim Nantz and Tony Romo on the call.

There will not be anything on FOX after the Bucs game, but really that's the only game any of us actually care about.
