What time the Bucs actually make their pick is the thing we all want to know -- and we sort of have an idea of to try and help out.
What time do the Buccaneers go on the clock in Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft?
While nobody knows the exact time, NFL reporter and Buccaneers insider Greg Auman gave as close of a guess as possible based on previous years. He suggested that since the Bucs went on the clock around 10:21 pm ET back in 2022 when they had the No. 19 pick, the same can probably be expected again this year.
"The 19th pick last year was at 10:21 p.m., so that should be roughly when the Bucs announce their pick if they stay put Thursday night," Auman said.
That last part is key, as the Bucs making a trade on Thursday night will change up when they go on the clock. History suggests that if a trade is made it will mean waiting longer for Tampa Bay to make its pick, as Jason Licht rarely moves up in the draft.
However, the last time he did that, it was to take Tristan Wirfs, so if there's someone like that in this class that Licht loves, we might see some action. For what it's worth, the man himself has already shot down recent rumors about the Bucs making a trade, which doesn't mean it won't happen, but significantly lowers the possibility.
Something else that lowers the possibility is the fact that in back-to-back years, when faced with an identical scenario in terms of being a trade candidate, the Bucs stood pat. That netted them Calijah Kancey and Graham Barton, which suggests not making a move might be the best option this year.
We won't know what will happen until it does, but barring a trade we at least know what time to expect the Buccaneers to go on the clock at the NFL Draft this year.
