With the offseason now firmly behind them, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers open up their four-game preseason slate on Thursday in Philadelphia against the Eagles. Here, we preview the matchup and tell you where you can watch and listen on Thursday night.

The dog days of the offseason are finally over, preseason football is here and while it doesn’t measure up to the regular season, some football is better than no football.  On Thursday night at 7 p.m., Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia plays host to the preseason opener between the Buccaneers and Eagles.

After two weeks of practice, position battles will continue to play out for Tampa Bay in game action.  The center position is up for grabs between Evan Smith and Joe Hawley, Adam Humphries and Cameron Brate will look to hold on to their recently awarded starting positions, special teams battles will continue to unfold and bubble players will be looking to make an impression on their coaches.  Storm Johnson, Mike James, Jonathan Krause and Johnthan Banks are just four of many Bucs looking to make enough of an impact to keep a spot on the roster.

The Eagles are starting a new era of their own on Thursday night. With Chip Kelly out and Doug Pederson in, Philadelphia will continue the process of figuring out its quarterback situation.  Sam Bradford is still on the roster, but Carson Wentz, this year’s no. 2 overall pick, is the future for the Eagles.  Chase Daniel, a former standout at Missouri, is also on the roster.  Their battle will continue to play out on Thursday night, as will the rest of Philadelphia’s position battles.

These two teams last met in week 11 of the 2015 regular season, when the Bucs pounded the Eagles by a score of 45-17 behind Jameis Winston‘s five touchdown passes.
