Losers of three straight, the 1-3 Buccaneers hit the road this week for some primetime action, taking on the 1-3 Carolina Panthers. Here, we preview the matchup and tell you where to watch and listen to it.

The Buccaneers are in a bad place right now, standing at 1-3 with a long list of injuries. They have a chance to get healthy during their bye in week six, but before they get there, they have to square off with the 1-3 Carolina Panthers.

A week ago, Tampa Bay was rolled over by the Denver Broncos, losing 27-7. Jameis Winston struggled, the run game went nowhere and the defense couldn’t stop Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch. Cameron Brate and Mike Evans managed to shine a bit, but the biggest issue last week was the losses of Gerald McCoy and Noah Spence.

The Panthers were beaten badly by the Atlanta Falcons last week, giving up 503 passing yards on their way to a 48-33 loss. Cam Newton left the game early after a hit to the head, which brought Derek Anderson into the game. Newton’s status is still unclear for Monday night, so it could be Anderson stepping in again. In 2014, he beat the Bucs twice while Newton watched from the sideline.

Both teams are struggling and in need of a season-changing win, so Monday night is a big deal. The Panthers can prove that they’re still in the hunt despite a bad start, while the Bucs are looking to prove that they are truly a different team than they were last year.

Carolina has beaten Tampa Bay six straight times. The last time the two teams squared off was week 17 of last year, when the Panthers came away with a 38-10 victory.
