Time to get back to football action, Buccaneers‘ fans. The bye week is in the rear-view mirror and our team gets back to work, heading to California to face the 49ers. Colin Kaepernick will make his second start of the season after an average performance against the Bills in a losing cause.
It will be interesting to watch how he performs against an underperforming Bucs’ secondary, to say the least.
With that, we get back to the business of game preparation, and that means the injury report. The team was back at practice today, so we have the first report of the week.
First for the Bucs:
Player | No. | Pos. | Injury | Wednesday |
Robert Ayers | 91 | DE | Ankle | Did Not Participate |
Joe Hawley | 68 | C | Knee | Limited Participation |
Doug Martin | 22 | RB | Hamstring | Did Not Participate |
Gerald McCoy | 93 | DT | Calf | Limited Participation |
Clinton McDonald | 98 | DT | Hamstring | Did Not Participate |
Cecil Shorts III | 10 | WR | Hamstring | Limited Participation |
Luke Stocker | 88 | TE | Ankle | Full Participation |
Well, so much for getting everybody back I guess. Certainly, having Stocker back as a full-go is a good sign. Having McCoy is a plus, even on a limited basis early in the week.
The two biggest stories are Robert Ayers and Doug Martin, both held out of practice. The news remains the most bleak for Martin. Take a look at what Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times let us know via Twitter:
Dirk Koetter says Doug Martin had a setback last weekend in his injury recovery. No timetable for return.

So there’s that. I guess it’s going to be the Jacquizz Rodgers show for a while, huh?
Now for the 49ers.
Player | No. | Pos. | Injury | Wednesday |
Arik Armstead | 91 | DT | Shoulder | Full Participation |
Zane Beadles | 68 | G | Ankle | Full Participation |
DeForest Buckner | 99 | DT | Foot | Full Participation |
Quinton Dial | 92 | DT | Knee | Full Participation |
Glenn Dorsey | 90 | DT | Knee | Full Participation |
Joshua Garnett | 65 | G | Foot | Limited Participation |
Carlos Hyde | 28 | RB | Shoulder | Did Not Participate |
Jeremy Kerley | 17 | WR | Ankle | Full Participation |
Vance McDonald | 89 | TE | Hip | Full Participation |
Rashard Robinson | 33 | CB | Concussion | Did Not Participate |
Jaquiski Tartt | 29 | S | Quadriceps | Limited Participation |
Jimmie Ward | 25 | CB | Quadriceps | Full Participation |
The biggest name out of practice on this list was Carlos Hyde. We will keep an eye on this as always to see if he jumps back into the fray before the week ends.
We will be back each day to follow up on the practice reports.
