As expected, very little movement in the final edition of the preseason power rankings. We did see a few newcomers to the list in Ted Larsen, Eric Page, and Daniel Te’0-Nesheim, and two players formerly on the rankings are no longer on the active 53. The power rankings were designed for the regular season, to see how things shift from week to week. So next week, expect a ton of shakeup, because one game that counts goes a heck of a lot further in my mind than four that didn’t.
Previous Rankings: Pre | P1 | P2 | P3
Rank | Player | Synopsis | Change |
| Gerald McCoy | Bucs decided to let go of Gary Gibson leaving the team with 4 DT’s. McCoys burden grows.
| Vincent Jackson | Incredibly tough matchup this week with Cromartie. Expect a rankings slide next week.
| Darrelle Revis | Finally a game he gets to play in.
| Lavonte David | TFL’s TFL’s TFL’s, we saw plenty last year, I want even a bunch against the Jets.
| Dashon Goldson | I’m ready to see this man in true action, feel like I don’t know him yet.
| Doug Martin | Has has own big shoes to fill, Jets a tough matchup, but he’ll get plenty of chances.
| Josh Freeman | The microscope is pointed directly at him, great first week can get some critics off his back.
| Donald Penn | Expect a nice game from Penn, no elite pass rusher should help, but 3-4 defense could cause some issues.
| Mark Barron | All I’m asking for is one skull crushing hit, I’ve been having withdrawals the last 9 months.
| Davin Joseph | He’s back, and he should be able to lead Doug to a solid start.
| Carl Nicks | Probably deserves to move down because he’ll be out this week, but I just couldn’t do it.
| Mason Foster | Control the run and force Geno Smith to beat the Bucs with his arm. Foster will be key in doing so.
| Akeem Spence | Mark Dominik showed a lot of faith in Spence letting Gibson go, first real game, time to prove why. | ↑2 |
| Adrian Clayborn | People tend to forget how good some guys are when they are gone from injury. AC could be top 10 next week. | ↓1 |
| Mike Williams | With Cromartie on Jackson, Mike will have to have a big game becuase the targets will be there. | ↓1 |
| Jeremy Zuttah | The swiss army knife of Bucs’ offensive lineman, could see him at multiple positions in the first few weeks.
| Leonard Johnson | Revis is back, rookie QB might make mistakes in his direction.
| Da’Quan Bowers | Let’s go. Prove me right while you are still on this list.
| Demar Dotson | Needs a solid effort, otherwise the Gabe Carimi era will begin.
| Brian Leonard | I have a sneaking suspicion he’s going to score this week. Doug Martin fantasy owners everywhere cringe.
| Ted Larsen | Nicks is out, next man up. | ↑4 |
| Dekoda Watson | Feels like we’ve had this battle all preseason, now we get to see who won the spot and what roles each of…
| Jonathan Casillas | These two guys will fill. Will be interesting to see how many snaps each get this week, and compare it to next.
| Eric Page | Winner winner chicken dinner, we have our kick returner. Oh what I’d give for a punt return TD this week. | ↑2 |
| Daniel Te’o-Nesheim | The beneficiary of Bowers not stepping up the last four weeks. | ↑1 |
