The Backstory On That Jameis Winston Crab Legs Photo
It didn’t take long for Jameis Winston to commit his first mistake (literally) in a Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey. Shortly after getting selected with the No. 1 overall pick, Winston, in a white No. 3 Bucs jersey, took a picture, sitting in front of a table with crab legs. The photo was posted on his Twitter and Instagram accounts accompanied by the caption, “Thanks Capt for the crab legs.”
The post immediately received backlash because of the 2014 incident where he received a citation for shoplifting crab legs from a Tallahassee Publix. Is this Winston toying with people? Or is there more to the story? According to former Buccaneers quarterback Shaun King, it’s the latter.
Even though this was a simple case of Winston doing something to help out the Alstott Foundation and Captain Keith Colburn returning the favor, the picture has been taken down.
Even Capt. Keith has offered up his two cents on the so-called controversy.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
