11. player. 57. . DT. Alabama. Jarran Reed

Clemson Tiger Shaq Lawson appears to be a better fit as a 3-4 outside linebacker, so when the Chicago Bears go looking for a 3-4 defensive end, they should look to Jarran Reed from Alabama.

Locking in Alshon Jeffrey was a big step in ensuring Jay Cutler and the Bears’ offense can be effective enough to win games in the NFL.  Adding another target to compliment Jeffrey will be key in the rounds following, but first the team needs to address their defense.

Once known for their defensive ferocity, the defense in Chicago looks more like the Cubs than any “Monsters of the Midway” we’re all used to.  With the additions of linebackers Danny Trevathan and Jerrell Freeman, the Bears are on their way to returning toughness to their squad.

Reed played inside and on the edge for the Crimson Tide, and should be able to give the team an aggressive and effective rusher they were missing last year.
