2016 NFL Mock Draft Version 3.0: Free-Agency Impact
San Diego’s off-season has been rather quiet since the end of the 2015 season, when it became painfully obvious the team was no longer going to be receiving the services of veteran safety Eric Weddle.
The team has since turned to veteran Dwight Lowery, but still need more help at the top of their defense.

Florida State’s Jalen Ramsey is the best candidate available in the draft, and will be an instant difference maker on the Chargers’ defense.
The Seminole defensive back is listed as a corner, but is talented enough, smart enough, and aggressive enough, to drop back into a safety role in order to fill the gap left by Weddle’s departure.
Teaming with Lowery, who is entering his 9th NFL season, will give San Diego a tandem they can feel comfortable with and allows them to take more risks up front.
Fans are not happy about the way Weddle exited the franchise after so many years of consistent production, but drafting Ramsey gives the team a fighting chance to replace him with an even bigger fan favorite, who could prove to be an upgrade, sooner rather than later.
