Number Three: Seattle Seahawks at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Nov. 27

More from The Pewter Plank

Let’s rewind the clock to December of 2014, shall we? Jameis Winston, yet to be drafted into this league and preparing for a run at a second consecutive national championship, had some interesting words about one of the best corners in the NFL;

"“We don’t fear nobody. Richard Sherman could get out there and line up against us, we wouldn’t throw away from him neither.” Well, Jameis…now, Sherman will be on the field and you’re going to have to beat him. Another measuring stick for Tampa Bay, facing a team that went to two consecutive Super Bowls and is going to be in contention for another one this season. Luckily, Seattle has to fly to Tampa rather than the other way around which may prove to be beneficial for the Bucs. To be fair, any season opener would’ve made this list. This game is on here for two reasons; first, it’s in prime time. Second, you all remember what happened the last time we saw the Falcons on Thursday Night Football. It’s not happening again. Period. New coaches, franchise quarterback, dominant run game…all things that were non-existent during the last TNF match-up. And let’s not forget that it’s color rush night which means Tampa busts out those sweet red uniforms with pewter numbers, which will be awesome. Both teams will be coming off of 1:00 p.m. home games the Sunday before, so the only real advantage either has is Tampa getting to stay home. Should be a good one…well, as good as any Thursday night game normally is. Next: Number One Gerald McCoy (93) tackles Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (1) during the first half of an NFL football game at Raymond James Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports Number One: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers (MNF) – Oct. 10 The game right before the Bucs’ bye week, so Bucs fans will either be celebrating for two weeks or stewing over another loss to the Panthers for two weeks. This will be no easy task and, honestly, will probably be a loss. However, the Buccaneers are finally back on Monday Night Football. It’s been a while, but Jameis Winston has made this team relevant enough to be in the spotlight. Get used to it, NFL fans. Winston vs. Newton will be a prime time feud for years to come. It’s not going to be Manning vs. Brady overkill, but it isn’t going away any time soon, either. The Bucs have to make a stand in this game. If any game can be the “most important” of Winston’s young career, it’s this one. Go on the road, face a division foe in a hostile environment, on national television, and win. The Buccaneers can’t afford to get man-handled the way they did the last game of 2015 in Charlotte.
