The second game of the Bucs’ 2016 season is also away against the Arizona Cardinals.  The Cardinals are a real force in not only the NFC West, but the entire NFL.  Although their playoff run was cut short last year, they are looking for another deep run into the playoffs.

More from Bucs News

The Cardinals have a loaded team on both sides of the ball.  Their offense is able to stretch the field with great a quarterback in Carson Palmer and a multitude of tremendous receivers.  Just when you think that you can guard the pass they can hit you with the run out of the backfield with David Johnson.

The Bucs’ defense will definitely have their hands full in this game, but with Mike Smith’s different schemes it could help deal with this issue.

On defense, the Cardinals have one of the best secondaries in the NFL.  Bruce Arians has preached about getting after the passer, and having traded for Chandler Jones and drafting Robert Nkemdiche, there is great possibility he will get his wish.  As long as the Bucs can establish the run game with Doug Martin and Charles Sims, this could be a duel in the desert worth watching.
