Total: 414 yards, 2 TD

Points Allowed: 19

For the second straight week the Buccaneers defense surrendered 19 points to their opponent. However, this time the offense wasn’t able to find the ability to score and the team fell 19-9 in Houston. An important win for the Texans as their division title hopes came down to the last week of the season, but a failed opportunity for Tampa to go 2-1 in the first three games of the year.

More from The Pewter Plank

Relatively speaking, surrendering less than three touchdowns to your opponent can set your team up for success, but it doesn’t guarantee a win.

Still though, the loss cannot be pinned solely on the defense in this one as the team simply didn’t perform at peak performance.

Leading the way in Week 3 though was rookie linebacker Kwon Alexander who secured his first interception of his career and added 10 tackles to his season total.

The rookie had been a surprise starter coming out of training camps, and was proving it was no fluke.

A 24th place finish for the week surely disappointed any fantasy owners who started them, but three straight games with a forced turnover showed the team had potential to produce points week in and week out.
