The Buccaneers head to Kansas City this weekend to take on the Chiefs in what will be a crucial matchup. Finding a way to pull this one out and get back to .500 would be a huge step in the process of making a run at the 2016 playoffs.
Beating the team that is tied for the AFC West lead with a 7-2 record would be just what the doctor ordered as far as a boost for the Bucs confidence.
They enter hostile territory though. Arrowhead Stadium has caused nightmares for many experienced teams, and Tampa is a young bunch. The Kansas City faithful will be ready to crank up the noise and make Jameis Winston’s job difficult. The Bucs are going to have to make a statement early to quiet the crowd.
With that, let’s look at the injury report, and see if the guys will be on the field to make that statement.
Here’s the Bucs report:
Player | No. | Pos. | Injury | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Game Status |
Kevin Pamphile | 64 | G | Concussion | Full Participation | Full Participation | Did Not Participate | Out |
Jacquizz Rodgers | 32 | RB | Foot | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Out |
Evan Smith | 62 | C | Knee | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Out |
Joe Hawley | 68 | C | Knee | Limited Participation | Full Participation | Full Participation | Questionable |
Russell Shepard | 89 | WR | Hip | Full Participation | Full Participation | Full Participation | Questionable |
Luke Stocker | 88 | TE | Ankle | Did Not Participate | Limited Participation | Full Participation | Questionable |
That’s a pretty straightforward report. The three guys listed as questionable practiced in full, so we are likely to see them on Sunday. Probable would have been their designation in the past, but that designation has been eliminated, so here they sit as probable.
Now here is the report for the Chiefs:
Player | No. | Pos. | Injury | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Game Status |
Jeremy Maclin | 19 | WR | Groin | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Out |
Jaye Howard | 96 | DE | Hip | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Doubtful |
Phillip Gaines | 23 | CB | Neck | Limited Participation | Limited Participation | Limited Participation | Questionable |
Justin Houston | 50 | LB | Knee | Full Participation | Limited Participation | Limited Participation | Questionable |
Derrick Johnson | 56 | LB | Hamstring | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Limited Participation | Questionable |
Marcus Peters | 22 | CB | Hip | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Questionable |
Dontari Poe | 92 | DT | Knee | Did Not Participate | Limited Participation | Did Not Participate | Questionable |
James Winchester | 41 | LS | Not Injury Related | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Questionable |
D.J. Alexander | 57 | LB | Neck | Full Participation | Full Participation | Full Participation | – |
Tamba Hali | 91 | LB | Knee | Did Not Participate | Did Not Participate | Limited Participation | – |
D.J. White | 24 | CB | Hand | Full Participation | Full Participation | Full Participation | – |
Houston may have a problem after all. After practicing in full earlier in the week, he was downgraded to limited and is questionable. Per the Chiefs website, coach Andy Reid thinks it’s a good possibility that he will play:
"“I think it’s a good chance, but we’ll see. We’ll see how he worked out today.”"
That says to me that he will play, but be on a pitch count. Look for Houston to be out there in passing situations where he can come after Winston. We may not see Dontari Poe, however, as he did not practice today.

Big chance for the Bucs here if they can pull the upset.
