We’ve narrowed it from eight to four, four to two. Here are the fan choices for Tampa Bay Buccaneers Play of the Year in 2016.

Is it any surprise? I mean, at all? It shouldn’t be. The fan voted Buccaneers Play of the Year award has been narrowed down to two and both plays involve Jameis Winston and Mike Evans.

Again, anyone surprised?

Winston and Evans took a massive leap forward in 2016 as far as quarterback/wide receiver combos are concerned. Evans was selected to his first ever Pro Bowl after leading the NFL in receptions for a first down as well as finishing in the top five in receptions, yards, touchdowns, and targets.

With the Winston-Evans connection leading the way, the Bucs surged from 3-5 to a 9-7 finish, winning five games in a row along the way. Even with the severe lack of weapons on offense, Evans seemed unstoppable despite teams keying on him every single week.

Evans, of course, got our nomination for his one handed catch against Atlanta on Thursday Night Football. Not only did we recognize it as one of the top Bucs plays of the year, Evans himself took home the award for NFL Play of the Year at the NFL Honors show the night before the Super Bowl.

Winston got our nomination for his insane scramble and 40-plus yard completion to Evans against the Bears. That play was named the fifth best play of the year at the NFL Honors show. For those keeping count, that means the 40% of the top five plays of the year as viewed by the NFL involved  Jameis Winston and Mike Evans together in some capacity.

Not too shabby, huh?

So the real question is, which play do Buccaneers fans view as better? The sick one-handed catch? The Jameis Houdini disappearing act? Either way, they really can’t go wrong in whatever one they choose. It all boils down to personal preference as both plays were utterly astounding.
