The betting lines for all of the Buccaneers games have been released.

Preparation for the Buccaneers 2017 season is in full swing. The draft is over, as is rookie minicamp. OTA’s are on the horizon and soon enough we will be watching this team go through training camp on Hard Knocks. The dog days of summer are on their way, training camp will be here, and soon enough, the ball will be on the tee and week one will begin.

It’s not only the Bucs and the NFL, however, there are preparing for the season. You know who else is getting ready? Las Vegas! We know they are going to have a team in 2-3 years when the Raiders move on over. Them deserting their devoted fans is for another discussion on another website. Vegas is also preparing their own unique brand of “action” for the upcoming season.

More from The Pewter Plank

Believe it or not, Vegas is already working on their betting lines for the season. Cantor Technology has released the betting lines for all games in the first sixteen weeks of the regular season. They have stayed away from the final week due to all of the potential variables.

Playoff situations, seedings…etc., do a lot to determine whether guys play and for how long, and have a big impact on the spread. Therefore, week 17 has been left out of this discussion.

Now, without further adieu, the lines for the Buccaneers over the first sixteen weeks:

Week 1

Bucs at Dolphins (-1.5)

Week 2

Bears at Bucs (-7)

Week 3

Bucs at Vikings (-3)

Week 4

Giants at Bucs (-2.5)

Week 5 (Thursday)

Patriots (-3) at Bucs

Week 6

Bucs at Cardinals (-3)

Week 7

Bucs at Bills (-1.5)

Week 8

Panthers at Bucs (-2.5)

Week 9

Bucs at Saints (-1.5)

Week 10

Jets at Bucs (-8)

Week 11

BYE

Week 12

Bucs at Falcons (-6.5)

Week 13

Bucs at Packers (-7)

Week 14

Lions at Bucs (-3)

Week 15 (Monday)

Falcons (-1.5) at Bucs

Week 16

Bucs at Panthers (-3)
These choices vastly understate the ability of this Bucs team. They are favored only five times overall and never on the road. I mean, no disrespect to Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Tannehill, but the Bucs are better than the Dolphins or the Bills, am I right? And I’m sorry, my picks would have the Bucs favored to sweep the Panthers. Carolina just isn’t what they were a couple of years ago.

Of course, these picks matter very little in the grand scheme of things. The games are played on the field. It still, however, is mind-boggling, that with the roster the Bucs are putting together, they don’t get more respect. They won nine games last year, yet all they are favored in is five?
