The annual show “NFL’s Top 100” is voted on by the players and featured the first two Buccaneers to make the list – Jameis Winston and Gerald McCoy.

Not too shabby for a second year player, huh? Of course, I’m referring to Jameis Winston and his debut on the “NFL’s Top 100” list as he was voted the fifty-eighth best player in the league. For the only quarterback in history to start a career with two consecutive seasons of 4,000 or more yards and twenty or more touchdowns, that’s a pretty solid start.

“It’s amazing to be on the same field as him,” said Vic Beasley of the division rival Atlanta Falcons. “He a dog.”

Former Cardinal and new Jaguar defensive lineman Calais Campbell said Jameis is “almost like a Brett Favre.”

When they asked Winston what he would pick as his “resumé” play this season? There was only one answer;

As for the other Buc on the list, Gerald McCoy made his fifth straight appearance on the show – rising eleven spots from sixty-three to fifty-two.

“He takes double teams and triple teams like no one I’ve ever seen,” was the sentiment shared by fellow teammate Mike Evans.

McCoy led the Buccaneers in sacks yet again in 2016 with 8.5 and will surely benefit from the addition of Chris Baker in the middle along side him, but also from a healthy Noah Spence who will have some lofty expectations heading into year two.

One of McCoy‘s best attributes – which certainly doesn’t go unnoticed – is his run stuffing ability. “His get-off is sick,” said division rival Kawaan Short of the Panthers. One of the interesting things that was shown on the countdown was McCoy moving more to the outside than we’ve seen in years past, which led to some of the sacks he acquired against the likes of Colin Kapernick and Russell Wilson.

“I love to have him as a teammate,” praised fellow list member Jameis Winston.
