Known as a fantasy guy on NFL Network, Adam Rank posted an interesting article about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and how far they will go in 2017.

NFL Fantasy LIVE co-host, Adam Rank has some interesting takes in his latest article, Why you should root for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Rank is starting a new series where he discusses why “free agent” NFL fans should root for the certain team. He starts off giving a brief history of the franchise then goes through some important need to know bullet points on why the team is a good team to root for.

In his Buccaneers post he talks about the past like the Super Bowl XXXVII victory over the Oakland Raiders, having Bo Jackson and Steve Young before they were superstars, and how they managed to get two Hall of Famers in the 1995 first round in Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks. He talks about how he loves the creamsicle jerseys and always picks them when he plays with the Bucs in Madden. Rank even likes the new uniforms too.

One point I disagree with him on his feelings towards Mike Alstott. He feels that he is the most overrated player in the franchise. His yardage numbers aren’t the greatest but he’s a fullback not a running back. He had the production where it counted, touchdowns. He also looks at Jon Gruden as overrated. I don’t think he’s overrated I just think he was given too much credit for finally getting them over the hump. He was only 45-51 after his first year with zero playoff wins.

He talked with Bucs super-fan Dick Vitale about the current state of the Bucs. Dicky V likes how the Bucs are underdogs and believes they have a real shot this season at the playoffs. Both are really excited about the offense and what Jameis Winston can do in his third season. They both agree that Derrick Brooks is the franchise best player. I agree because he stayed out of trouble and was selected first-team All-Pro five times. Dick Vitale has a loud mouth but is a good representative for the franchise.

Then he starts talking about the future. This is where things get interesting because he projects the Bucs to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LII. Whoa now this is a first. A big time NFL analyst is stating the Tampa Bay Bucs are going to the big show?. A little a head of schedule in my opinion  He feels the additions of O.J. Howard and DeSean Jackson can put the offense over the top. This may be his fantasy brain drooling but the offense does look like it could score a ton of points at will. He may be too focused on the offense because he didn’t bring up the defense at all. However, if the defense can continue off the end of last seasons success any thing can happen in a one game playoff.

I feel the Bucs are a year or two away from being legitimate contenders. Hearing at least one big time analyst have serious faith in this team does give me hope. How do you feel about his article?Sound off on Twitter.
