Running BackJacquizz Rodgers, Charles Sims and Peyton Barber

Doug Martin, from what I have seen, has been the best back in camp and it is not even close. Most readers know that Martin will miss the first three games of the regular season because he has to finish serving his PED suspension he received at the end of the 2016 schedule. Martin will not count towards the 53 man roster until week 4. So Jacquizz Rodgers should step in for Martin as the starter weeks 1-3.

More from Bucs News

Charles Sims has reemerged as a weapon for Dirk Koetter and his offense this off season. His big play ability in open space was never in question. His new found commitment to picking a hole and hitting it has cemented himself a spot on the roster and in the running back rotation.

Peyton Barber has always been sort of a teachers pet to Buccaneers running backs coach Tim Spencer. It took Barber almost a calendar year to pick up the offense. Especially when it came to pass protection. Now that Barber is comfortable with every aspect of the playbook, fans are seeing what the Bucs staff have been saying since the 2016 training camp. Barber is also the go to back in short yardage situations.
