Buccaneers waive HBO Hard Knocks star Riley Bullough
We can’t say it came as a huge surprise, but the Buccaneers officially waived linebacker Riley Bullough today.
The report first came out from NFL Insider Adam Schefter who tweeted the news.
The undrafted rookie from Michigan State first entered the hearts and minds of the Bucs faithful when head coach Dirk Koetter praised him for his leadership on the field.
From then, whether he was being compared to comedic character Joe Dirt or cussing out sleds during practice, everything the former Spartan did was HBO gold.
However, as the games went live and the film kept rolling, it became evident Bullough was missing something.
In the third episode of the Hard Knocks series covering the Buccaneers’ training camp and preseason, the young player said it himself.

There are just plays he needs to make, which he didn’t.
It’s cliché, but you can’t teach heart and determination. Bullough has both.
I don’t think anyone has any doubt this young man will find his way onto a practice squad somewhere, and may even be able to work his way into some regular season snaps.
We here at The Pewter Plank have enjoyed watching him this camp and preseason, and sincerely wish him all the best moving forward.
Don’t be surprised to see him in pewter again, but we’ll have to see just how popular HBO’s coverage made him around the NFL.
What are your thoughts on Bullough and his chances and landing on an NFL squad?
