Which Buccaneers practice squad member will be the first to see the field?

The player I believe gets the first action in the NFL is running back, Russell Hansbrough.

Hansbrough was on the team last season and we got to see enough good from him this preseason to realize he has potential.

The Buccaneers have an issue at running back this year, especially in the first three games. With Doug Martin out with suspension, the Bucs have three back-ups running the show.

In college at Missouri he averaged five yards per carry while gaining over 1,000-yards his junior year.

His senior season was marred with injuries leaving him undrafted. The Buccaneers picked him up, but he was kept on the practice squad for most of last season.

He was on the active roster for only two games and didn’t record a stat.

This preseason Hansbrough had 33-yards on six carries and four catches for 34-yards in the final two games.

Hansbrough has shown some flashes of speed and reliable enough hands. He’s the fastest running back Tampa has on their roster.

The Buccaneers need breakaway speed which none of their backs currently possess. If one goes down with an injury for any amount of time the Bucs will need to call him up.

While I don’t believe he will become anything more than a backup I believe he will be the first practice squad player in a regular season game.
