The Buccaneers (1-1) were beaten and bruised, figuratively and literally, last week in a 34-17 loss to the Vikings. They now return to Raymond James Stadium on Sunday for a 4:05 p.m. kickoff against the Giants (0-3). Here, we preview the match-up and tell you where to watch and listen to it.

The Buccaneers are reeling a bit after a lopsided loss to the Vikings last week. A trip home usually is a happy prospect, but this return is a bit different. Tampa Bay will play two games in five days, starting with Sunday afternoon’s matchup with the Giants. The fact that New York is winless doesn’t take away the fact that they will field a whole lot of talent. This is a team that will certainly challenge the Bucs, especially if they play like they did in last week’s loss.

Tampa Bay is coming off a brutal 34-17 loss to Minnesota. Jameis Winston struggled and threw three picks, while the defense got picked apart by Case Keenum. Because of an early deficit, the Bucs turned away from the run, which led to just five carries for Jacquizz Rodgers. Nothing seemed to go right, which led to loss No. 1 on the season. This week is a chance for them to prove that last week was a one-time thing.

The Giants are struggling so far this season, as they have yet to find a win. A 19-3 loss to the Cowboys in week one and a 24-10 loss to the Lions in week two were uninspiring, but week three’s 27-24 loss to the Eagles was a little more promising. Eli Manning has some serious weapons at his disposal with superstar Odell Beckham Jr., veteran Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard. The problem is, opponents are getting to Manning frequently due to some shoddy offensive line play.

Sunday’s game should feature two dangerous passing attacks, which means it may be left to whichever defense can step up. The Bucs were all over the ball in their season-opening win against the Bears before getting shredded up last week by a backup quarterback. Tampa Bay’s run defense has been its strength, while the opposite can be said for New York. The Buccaneer defense is first in rushing yards allowed per game this season (in one less game, to be fair). On the other side, the Giants are dead last.

Injuries certainly played a factor in Tampa Bay’s loss last week, and they unfortunately could factor in to this week’s game as well. Kwon Alexander (hamstring) is still out, while Lavonte David (ankle) and T.J. Ward (hip) are doubtful. Robert Ayers (knee), Brent Grimes (shoulder), Gerald McCoy (ankle), Noah Spence (shoulder) and J.R. Sweezy (back) are all questionable. However, Ayers, McCoy and Sweezy were full participants in Friday’s practice.

The last time these two teams met was in week nine of the 2015 season. The Giants came away with a 32-18 road win. Eli Manning threw for two touchdowns in the game, while Mike Evans went for 150 yards on eight catches for the Bucs. New York owns a 13-6 in the all-time regular season series with a 6-5 advantage in Tampa.
