Cornerback Tre’Davious White

One of Pro Football Focus’ highest graded rookies is first-rounder from LSU, Tre’Davious White.

He has been a very effective defensive back this season. White has the second most pass deflections in the NFL with eight and he’s already had his bye week.

After a complete overhaul of their secondary from last season, White has stepped in as the number one corner and proved he is one of the best.

The Bills traded Ronald Darby and lost Stephon Gilmore to free-agency and look better this season than last. White went against an injury-weakened Julio Jones in week five who exited the game early, so this week will be his toughest test against a healthy Mike Evans.

The Buccaneers may not have Winston to throw him the deep ball but Ryan Fitzpatrick showed last week he can still find Mike deep if he needs to. The Bucs offense has not played one complete game yet but White will still have to be on full alert no matter who he’s lined up against. Tampa Bay has passed for almost 300-yards per game. Look for Tre’Davious to try and change this average on Sunday.

Up to this point, Dirk Koetter’s passing game just hasn’t gotten rolling early or often. We all know how crucial an early start is for the Buccaneers, and it’ll be interesting to see how the team attacks one of the best young corners in the league.
