Mike Evans

The Buccaneers top receiver will be back as he was forced to watch last weeks contest on the sidelines after his suspension for blindsiding Marcus Lattimore.  Evans absence hurt the Buccaneers offensive attack last week, and his return will give Ryan Fitzpatrick the ability to spread the ball around and possibly open up the offense that is ranked third in the NFL in passing yards per game this season.

More from The Pewter Plank

Evans has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons and, with 468 or more receiving yards this season, will join A.J. Green (2011-14) and Randy Moss (1998-2001) as the only players in NFL history to record 1,000 or more receiving yards in each of their first four

seasons.  If he can stay on the field, Evans should have no problem joining this elite group of receivers.

While that club record is impressive Evans has a chance this season to get to the top of a list in Buccaneers franchise history in one of the most prestigious catagories.  With 31 career receiving touchdowns he needs one more to pass Kevin House (31 from 1980-86) for second-most and three more to tie Jimmie Giles (34 from 1978-86) for the most receiving touchdowns in franchise history. If he and Fitzpatrick can get some chemistry, he could reach this record in this weeks game or at least the very near future.
