Drew Brees v Matt Ryan

Division rivalries and fantasy football pressure. If you have either one of these guys, then you have likely had a pretty good year. Even if Drew Brees has been on a bit of a down season.

The 11th and 15th ranked quarterbacks in Yahoo scoring, neither guy has been the world beaters they are capable of being, yet neither has cost you a game by themselves.

Staring across the digital scoreboard at each other, getting a win at this position is big, because for most leagues there’s only one spot for these guys.

Who will win this one? Simply put, it’ll be Matt Ryan.

Brees currently has the edge over Ryan by 20 whole points. That’s a game’s worth to be honest. However, a lot of this has had to do with the screen efficiency of one Alvin Kamara.

Atlanta’s defense is young, fast, and hungry. They’ll be able to match-up better than most could against Kamara and fellow back fielder Mark Ingram.

In contrast, the Saints simply aren’t equipped to contain all the Falcons have to throw at them. Add to it, the Falcons are playing at home, and it’s a recipe for an Atlanta outburst.

This is a crucial game. If the home team is what they appeared to be in last year’s Super Bowl – well, the first part – then they’ll step up here, and those who have Ryan going up against Brees will be happy with the outcome.
