Tight End

Jack Doyle $5,200

Doyle has come on strong this year and has emerged as one of the best receiving options on the Colts.  On the year he has 64 receptions for 564 yards, but only three touchdowns.  He currently ranks fourth in targets per game at his position and eighth in reception yards.

This week he gets to play at home against a Broncos team that defensively has been stout against all positions other than at tight end.  They are ranked 28th in the league at giving up points to opposing tight ends this season as well as 22nd in total points allowed.

The Colts are fighting for pride at this point in the season and get a prime time 8:25 PM EST matchup and Doyle will be looking to shine.  Watch for them to target him early and often as he records his second 100+ yard game and a pair of touchdowns.

Rob Gronkowski $7,300

Gronk is done serving his one-game suspension and should be back with a vengeance this week in a matchup that has shootout potential.  On paper, this is not a great matchup for opposing tight ends, but Gronkowski is the one tight end in football that matchups don’t matter.

On the season he is only 151 yards away from 1,000 receiving yards on the year. This is an even more impressive feat as he has missed three games of the year.  The Brady to Gonk connection will be one that goes down in history as one of the best quarterbacks to tight end tandems ever.

This week against the usually potent Steelers defense the Patriots will continue their ways of getting Gronk involved in the game.  Watch for him to hit the 1,000-yard receiving mark on the year with over 151 yards and at least one score.

D/ST

Baltimore Ravens $3,800

The Ravens ran into the buzzsaw that is the Pittsburg Steelers last week and put up their second worst fantasy performance of the season.  This week they get to travel to Cleveland and face the winless Browns.  Watch for them to bounce back in a big way.

Averaging double-digit points on the season with two performances in the negative range shows just how high the ceiling for the Ravens defense/special teams actually is.  They have six games on the season where they scored fifteen or more fantasy points.  One of those games came in week two where they scored seventeen points against the Browns.  Look for at least two turnovers forced and holding the Browns under seventeen points.

Minnesota Vikings $3500

For as good a defense as the Vikings have been this season it hasn’t related to fantasy points.  They are only averaging 6.0 points per game on the year.  This could be the week they go big as they get the always interception prone Jay Cutler coming to town.

Last week the Dolphins pulled off the upset beating the Patriots on Monday night football, but with a short week to prepare for the Vikings should allow them to feast on the unprepared Dolphins.  Watch for at least a pair of interceptions and holding the Dolphins under 20 points on the day.
