The inactive list for the Buccaneers-Dolphins game was released and some key players will not be suiting up for Tampa Bay in their preseason opener.

Over the past week, the injury bug has found its way to One Buc Place. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had injuries decimate their offensive line. From starters to fourth string players the Bucs will be paper-thin up front.

In particular, the Tampa Bay tackle position is going to be a problem. Four potential tackles are out with Demar Dotson, Cole Gardner and Leonard Wester all out of Thursday’s contest. Jarron Jones, who was signed two days ago will likely see plenty of action.

The biggest let downs revolve around Vita Vea, Shaun Wilson and Donnie Ernsberger. Thursday would have been Tampa Bay fans’ first chance to get a look at the trio of rookies.

Wilson has been making noise during camp and is in the mix for one of the final roster spots at running back. While Ernsberger is also in competition for a potential fourth tight end role.

Key players like Brent Grimes and Dotson probably would have been on the field for only a few snaps anyway, so it shouldn’t be a concern that the veterans aren’t suiting up.

The good news is that all of the injuries appear to be short term.

Nothing stands out for the Dolphins inactives. Mostly veterans who don’t need to play in this game. It won’t do Cameron Wake or Frank Gore any good to take a snap in this game.
