RB Ronald Jones

Rookie running back Ronald Jones made a minimal impact through the first 10 weeks of the 2018 season.

Sometimes rookies get a pass, but a player selected at the top of the second round rarely gets that luxury. Jones was expected to contribute immediately, but he didn’t even make the active roster until Week 4.

Starting the season as a healthy scratch was a bad sign for Jones. He did struggle in the preseason, but it seemed like he could brush off the rough start with regular season reps.

Tampa Bay’s coaching staff must not have seen much on the practice field either. They decided to give Shaun Wilson the nod as the team’s third running back out of camp.

Over the next four games, Jones barely made his presence felt. Aside from a one-yard touchdown run, Jones was mostly ineffective.  On 25 touches, Jones earned 75 yards from scrimmage.

Then, the injury bug struck and forced him to miss the past two games.

Jones was drafted to try and turn around the Tampa Bay rushing attack. Sadly, the Bucs struggles on the ground have continued. The Bucs 91.6 rushing yards per game average ranks 29th in the league.

Hopefully, he can rebound and finish his rookie campaign strong, because he hasn’t left a strong first impression.
