Jawaan Taylor, Florida

In what turned out to be the biggest slide of the first round, projected top-ten pick Jawaan Taylor from the University of Florida did not hear his name called in the first round of the draft. In what was pegged as teams weary of taking him due to his knee issue, Taylor now becomes a value pick in the second round.

At the combine, Taylor looked like the best tackle in the class on the field without question. Being led to believe he was going to be a top pick in the draft, Taylor did not perform any tests this offseason besides the bench press, where he hit 24 reps.

Make no mistake however, Taylor’s tape is fantastic and he remains one of the best tackles in this class. If his knee is truly the hold up, Tampa Bay could give him the opportunity to sit for a year behind Dotson, heal up, then take over the starting role in 2020. Taylor attended the Buccaneers local workout and met with the team. If general manager Jason Licht feels comfortable with his health, then he should take Taylor in a heartbeat with the 39th overall pick in the draft to start the second round.
