RB Duke Johnson
The 2019 draft came and went with the Buccaneers standing pat with Ronald Jones and Peyton Barber spearheading their offense. This show great confidence from the coaching staff to allow Barber to build off of his near 1,000 yard season and to give Jones a fresh start. Just one problem with this plan: both have hands made of stone.

It is imperative for the Buccaneers to add a back who can come in on third downs and passing situations and make a splash for the offense. It has been no secret Duke Johnson has wanted out of Cleveland ever since the signing of Kareem Hunt and a 2018 season where he was severely under-utilized. Tampa Bay and Arians’ offense would be a great fit for Johnson and provide him a fresh start in an offense which feasts on its passing game.
Over his career, Johnson has only ran for 1,200 yards and five scores over four years, but in the passing game in the slot and out of the backfield is where he does most of his damage. In 2018, the worst year of his career, Johnson still caught 47 passes for 429 yards and three scores. Johnson’s best season came in 2017, where he ran for 348 yards (5.1 yards per carry) and four scores and added an additional 693 yards receiving and three scores on 74 catches.
