Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3 potential Jason Pierre-Paul replacements
By Cory Kinnan
Nick Perry
A former first round pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2012, Nick Perry was released by the team this offseason and is in need of a new team. Perry has not lived up to the hype as a first rounder, totaling only 32 sacks in his seven year career to this point and only one season of double-digit sacks in 2016.

Last year Perry played in just nine games and recorded only a sack and a half, two tackles for loss, and three hits on opposing quarterbacks. The pickings will be slim for the Buccaneers, and Perry is one of the best pass rushers left on the market.
Only two years removed from his best season as a pro, Perry has an upside that may just need unlocked. During his 2016 campaign, Perry recorded 11 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and 16 hits on the quarterback.
If the Buccaneers can get even part of this production on a bargain contract in 2019, it would help them fill the void of the loss of Pierre-Paul. While Perry would not stop the bleeding on the Tampa Bay defensive front, he could at least provide a bandaid for one season if Pierre-Paul is unable to go in 2019.
