5.The signing of Shaquil Barrett

One of the most underrated free agents in the entire league ended up in Tampa Bay this offseason in former Denver Broncos edge rusher Shaq Barrett. The Buccaneers were able to get him at the bargain price of $4 million for one year as well this offseason.

More from The Pewter Plank

Barrett has spent his entire career in the shadows of big-time pass rushers such as Von Miller, Demarcus Ware, and Bradley Chubb. Throughout his time in the Mile High city however, Barrett demanded more playing time with his play, but was never given it.

Throughout his four years as a contributor for the Broncos, Barrett tallied 14 total sacks and 25 tackles for loss in a limited role. The analytics guys over at Pro Football Focus (subscription required) adore Barrett.

In Tampa Bay, Barrett will finally have the opportunity to get the reps he deserves as he will likely start for the Buccaneers at outside linebacker. Barrett, at a steal of a deal, was a fantastic move made by the front office this offseason.
