Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3 things Bruce Arians must tackle in 2019
By Rob Leeds
1. Solve the quarterback dilemma
This should be an obvious first step for anyone that follows the Bucs or even keeps up with the national news. There have been questions about Jameis for some time now and the Bucs will be backed into a corner at the end of the season on what to do with him.

Jameis’ stats and decision-making have both been lackluster over the last few years. He will show flashes of greatness in offseason workouts and the preseason and then throw some awful interceptions in game situations. In addition to on the field drama Jameis also has some serious decision making problems off the field. It feels like it is impossible for Jamies to make it through a year without a scandal or missing playing time, which leads to things like Fitzmagic and muddles the quarterback conversation even further.
The Buccaneers cannot afford to have another conversation for who needs to be the starting quarterback in the middle of the season. Jameis is here to stay for one more year but at the end of this season Bruce Arians has to have an absolute answer as to whether or not Jameis will still be on the team in 2020.
Fortunately for the Buccaneers the skillsets of Jameis and Bruce Arians could be perfectly compatible. Jameis and Arians both like to play the high risk high reward passing game. In addition to this Arians may be able to tap into Jamies’ high levels of talent and prune away some of his less likeable characteristics. If Arians can “reform” Jameis and make him a competent man on and off the field Winston could be the Bucs’ quarterback for years to come.
