QB Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston is without a doubt the player on the team under the most pressure this season. After question marks all last year the team had to pick up his fifth-year option in his rookie contract in an effort to further evaluate his talent and determine if he will be the quarterback of the future for the team. The fifth year player has struggled with problems on and off the field and has divided the fan base between those who see his upside and those who do not.

Jameis is under pressure this season but look for him to thrive despite the circumstances. Jameis has every possible weapon around him and the addition of a fully returned offensive line.

While the line play was poor last year the chemistry improvement and Bruce Arians could right the ship to give the quarterback more time to throw the ball. Jameis has an excellent receiving core, a running back who got paid, and Bruce Arians to help him take his game to the next level.

If Jameis can keep from throwing head-scratching interceptions and improve his off-field actions he could easily be the Bucs’ quarterback for years to come. This would require a lot of effort but it is not out of the question. Jameis is prepped for a Pro Bowl caliber season and could help the Buccaneers climb out of last in the NFC South.

2019 prediction: 4,500 passing yards, 40 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, Pro Bowl Selection
2020 prediction: resigned to a 5 year deal assuming his off the field problems are taken care of.
