Week One: San Francisco 49ers
The week one matchup will be one of the easiest of the season for a number of reasons. For starters, this is a home game and that goes a long way in the NFL especially when the talent is comparable. In addition to this Jameis Winston and Bruce Arians can hopefully implement their high risk high reward offense while Jimmy Garoppolo will be trying to return from last season’s catastrophic injury and play more conservative.

The Buccaneers utilize a pass-first offense and will look to spread the ball out amongst all of their receivers. The 49ers secondary is not deep enough to keep pace with the Bucs and will have to rely on their second and third string players to matchup against the Bucs’ second and thirds, which will be skewed in the favor of the Bucs as they have impressive depth in their receiver core.
Look for Jameis Winston to come out the gates for the 2019 season firing on all cylinders. The defense will have had the offseason to prepare under Todd Bowles and while it wont be in mid season form, it is likely that the first steps toward creating a viable defense will have been taken. Despite the momentum that the 49ers have after an impressive offseason, look for the Buccaneers to win a close fought game.
