Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Re-drafting the historically bad 2016 NFL Draft
By Cory Kinnan
Round 1, Pick 11: William Jackson, CB, Houston
Original Selection: Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida
At the time, the pick of Hargreaves looked like a good pick, however it has not panned out for the Buccaneers to this point. Hargreaves has missed 22 games over the past two years, including all but the beginning of game-one of the 2018 season, with an injury. When he has been on the field, he has not necessarily been an asset to the Buccaneers defense either.

With only one interception to this point in his career, Hargreaves has not lived up the expectations placed upon a first round pick, but the Buccaneers picked up his fifth-year option, so he has two more seasons to prove his worth. If the Buccaneers could go back, they may still select a cornerback, but this time in the form of Cincinnati Bengals’ cornerback and former first rounder William Jackson.
While Jackson has only recorded one pick in his career and had to practically redshirt as a rookie after being selected 24th overall, he has knocked down 27 passes over the last two years and was graded out at a high 73.4 according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required). The 6-0 and 200 pound cornerback originally out of Houston has been everything the Buccaneers thought the would get out of Hargreaves.
