WR Scotty Miller

Rest in peace to all of the offseason hype surrounding sixth round wide receiver out of Bowling Green State University, Scotty Miller. After a strong rookie and voluntary minicamp where Miller saw reps with the starters, he was sidelined for two weeks of training camp and now is in danger of missing the cut.

More from The Pewter Plank

Second year wide receivers Justin Watson and Bobo Wilson have taken full advantage of the time Miller has missed, and look to be the front runners for the fourth and fifth roster spots at receiver. The question remains as to whether or not the Buccaneers will keep a sixth receiver on the roster; if they do, then Miller is more than likely a safe bet to make the roster.

Making his preseason debut for the Buccaneers last week against the Cleveland Browns, Miller managed just two catches for 15 yards on six targets. After utilizing a draft pick on him, the Buccaneers are going to give Miller every opportunity to make the roster.

Likely to see significant playing time tonight against the Cowboys, Miller must take full advantage and put his highly touted speed and agility on display for the pewter and red; his job depends on it.
